Why is production audio such a pain?

Field recorders write polyphonic WAV files — every mic bundled into a single multichannel file. Most editing timelines, upload forms and delivery specs expect mono stems or a plain stereo mix.

Your NLE imports one unusable 8-channel clip
Sound libraries and clients reject the layout
Opening a DAW just to split a file wastes an hour

Audio Toolkit fixes it in the time it takes to drag a file.

Prepare your audio in 3 steps

  1. 01 · Drop your file

WAV from the recorder, or an MP4/MOV straight from the camera card.

  2. 02 · Choose your layout

Pick channels, reorder, rename or select an export format.

  3. 03 · Download

Mono stems, a ZIP, or one interleaved multichannel WAV.

Average processing time: under 10 seconds

Why filmmakers use it

Save time on set

Prep rushes between takes instead of waiting on a DAW to launch and import.

Protect your rushes

Embargoed footage and confidential interviews never leave your machine.

Skip the licence

No Pro Tools, no Reaper, no plugin. A browser tab is enough.

Editor-ready output

Files drop straight into Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut and Pro Tools.

Your files never leave your computer

Everything runs locally with the Web Audio API and WebAssembly. No upload, no server-side copy of your rushes, nothing to delete afterwards — because nothing was ever sent.

What sound crews say

A 8-channel poly from the Sound Devices used to mean opening a session just to split it. Now it takes twenty seconds in a browser tab, on location, on battery.
Camille D.Location sound recordist, France
I get camera files with three lav tracks buried in them. Extracting and inspecting before the ingest saved me from two bad conforms already.
Marcus H.Documentary editor, United Kingdom
Our NDA footage can't touch a third-party server. The fact that nothing uploads is the only reason we could adopt it studio-wide.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?
Never. Every file is decoded and re-encoded inside your browser with the Web Audio API. Nothing is transmitted, stored or seen by anyone.
Which formats can I work with?
WAV (up to 32 channels) for splitting, merging and channel mapping. MP4, MOV and WEBM for audio extraction, exported as WAV or AIFF.
Is sample rate and bit depth preserved?
Yes. Files are written at their original sample rate with 24-bit PCM output — no re-encoding, no generation loss.
Is there a file size limit?
Only your machine's memory. Because there is no upload, multi-gigabyte field recordings work fine on a modern laptop.
Do I need to install anything?
No plugin, no app, no account for your first conversion. Open the page, drop a file, download the result.
Does it work on Mac and Windows?
Yes, and on Linux too. Any recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox works.
What happens after my free conversion?
You can pay €0.90 per conversion, or go unlimited with the €19.90/month Pro plan. No hidden fees.
